Coleman School District Announces New Teachers

Issue Date: September 2, 2021

Teachers new to the Coleman School District this year are Alexis Hoida, a Coleman alum from the Class of 2012, is thrilled to be joining the Special Education Department as a paraprofessional. She and her husband, Steven, who is also a Coleman graduate, live in Marinette County and have three daughters who attend Coleman Elementary. Alexis loves the small community and looks forward to having the opportunity to give back to the students and community.

Samantha Christensen , who is a mother of two and in her last semester of an Early Childhood Technical Diploma, has also joined the Special Education Department as an aide. Outside of work and school, she enjoys fishing, going on outdoor adventures with her children and teaching them about nature and wildlife. She is excited to start this new journey with Coleman Elementary in the Special Education department.

Katrina Mayer who has previously worked at Southern Door County District and Pulaski High School, is excited to be joining Coleman School District as the new High School Counselor after spending the last three years home with her two boys. Outside of work and spending time with her husband and children. Katrina also served on the board for a local non-profit, Hope & Olive. She looks forward to the new school year and getting to know all of her students and families.

Diandra Markiewicz, after earning her degree from UW Stevens Point in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language, shea began her teaching career in Idaho before moving on to spend five years in the Howard Suamico School District as a 5th Grade Teacher. Diandra, who shares a passion for traveling with her husband, Kyle and daughter, Norah, also enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, or reading a good book. She will be teaching 2nd grade this year.

Vanessa Lecy, in her 10th year as an elementary educator, is joining Coleman as a 3rd Grade teacher. She and her husband, Dustin, live in Crivitz and have a daughter, MaKenna; son, Marvin; and English Springer Spaniel, Hunter. Vanessa earned her teaching certification from Marian University and also recently completed her Literacy Coaching Certification at UW-Oshkosh.

Dalton Keller- is currently attending UW Oshkosh to earn a Broad-Field Social Science degree in Secondary Education and will be doing his student teaching with Mr. Brady and Ms. Gilbertson. He is a 2017 graduate of Peshtigo High School, and outside of school, Dalton enjoys spending time with family and keeping active outdoors.

Rick Meyer lived in Coleman through 6th grade before his family left the area. He served in the US Army until he retired in 2009 as a Sergeant First Class and then moved back to Coleman in 2013. He has three daughters: Skyla, who graduated from Coleman in 2018; Jhada, who is attending NWTC; and Keona, a high school senior who is attending school in California. Ricky earned an Associates Degree in Computer Networking from ITT Technical College and is looking forward to providing IT support to the District.

Brooke Tupper graduated from UW Green Bay and then spent a year as a substitute teacher in Crandon; she is extremely happy to be joining the District as a Middle and High School Science Teacher and cannot wait to share her love for science with her students. Outside of school, Brook spends time with her husband, Trevor and dog, Maizey; she also enjoys crafting and creating pottery.

Megan Graetz is very excited to be a 4th grade teacher at Coleman Elementary. After graduating from Coleman, she earned her degree in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language from UW-Stevens Point. She has taught in multi-age classrooms in Chicago, IL and also in a traditional 3rd grade classroom in northeast Wisconsin. When not in the classroom, she enjoys golfing, hunting, traveling and trying new restaurants.

Shelby Kaisershot is joining the District as ther School Success Coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Social Work from Marian University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Lakeland University; Shelby is a familiar face in the District as she completed her internship and practicum at CHS. Outside of school, she can be found spending time with her husband and young son.

Derek Marquardt who was born and raised in Coleman and graduated from CHS in 2013, is excited to return to the District as a Middle and High School Health and Physical Education teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical and Health Education from UW Stevens Point; he also became licensed in Adapted Physical Education. When not in the classroom and gym, Derek enjoys being outdoors, keeping up with his personal health and fitness, and fishing.
