William J. Harris, 81, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 at home.
Born Dec. 1, 1939, to Joe and Lucille Harris in Wilson, Mi., he joined the United States Army in 1962 and served until being discharged in 1965. On Feb. 10, 1967, he married Helen Marie Ihander of Daggett, Mi. and drove truck for many years until retiring. After retirement, he enjoyed hauling junk.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Randy (Cheryl) Harris and Steve Harris; a daughter, Lory (Scott) Ruleau; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosemary Oberthur; a brother, Edward (Dottie) Sunila; a step-sister, Angie Wandahsega and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Lee Harris; two brothers, John and Fred Harris and a brother-in-law, John Oberthur.
Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 11 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson from 4 p.m. until time of Military Rites at 5:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service with Pastor Andrew Williams officiating.
