Peter J. Krulatz

Issue Date: June 23, 2022

Peter John Krulatz, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in his sleep.

Born Nov. 27, 1936, the eighth of nine children, to Martin and Ethel Krulatz, he grew up in Porterfield and attended the one room schoolhouse in Walsh and Our Lady of Lourdes in Marinette. In 1958 he married Theresa Kirt and they spent the next 22 years of married life together.

He served in the United States Army National Guard, 32nd Division for a year stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington State where he experienced Mt Rainer and attended the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle. He later settled in Menominee and worked at LE Jones for 33 years, retiring in 1998.

He had a big smile, a loud laugh, generous spirit and saw the value in everything, making him a believer in recycling and turning trash into treasure, long before it was trendy. He was a hard worker and loved to keep busy, enabling him to remain strong and physically fit into his 80's. He loved his daily visit to Perkins where he had coffee, read the newspaper, and talked.

He loved to tell stories, enjoyed complaining about corrupt politicians, both Democrat and Republican, and delighted in their scandals. He enjoyed seeing the Green Bay Packers lose and placing bets against them, but his greatest joy was his family and nothing put a smile on his face like seeing his great-grandchildren. He was a caring, fun-loving guy even in his struggles and will be missed by family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Tim Krulatz; a daughter, Belinda Krulatz; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a great-grandson and two sisters, Mary Sutter and Margaret Esser.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Mildred Bero, John Krulatz, Theresa Hosack, Matilda McEIlhatten, Joseph Krulatz, and Veronica Chaney; his former wife, Theresa Krulatz and a great-granddaughter, Brielle Grace Mullendore.

Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Friday, June 24 from 4 p.m. until time of Prayer Services at 6 p.m., with Deacon Chuck Gervasio presiding. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette on Saturday, June 25 at noon with Military Honors, followed by a private lunch for his loved ones.
