Mary J. Fendryk, 81, of Beaver died Friday, Jan. 4 at her home after a battle with kidney cancer.
The daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Dura) Darga was born on Sept. 6, 1926 in Beaver. She married Roman Francis Fendryk on July 29, 1952 at St. Leos Catholic Church, Pound. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1975.
The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Beaver. An active member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Coleman for many years, she was chairperson of the funeral committee and sang in the choir.
She is survived by 10 children, John (Alice) Fendryk and Jerome (Michelle) Fendryk, both of Beaver, Cecilia Fendryk of Abrams, Mrs. Doc (Ann) VanDeWalle of Crivitz, Tony (Kay) Fendryk, Joe (Cindy) Fendryk, Mike (Frances) Fendryk and Paul (Joyce) Fendryk, all of Waukesha, Leo Fendryk of Pound and Mrs. Rick (Therese) Sell of Sobieski; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by five sisters, Anna Boerschinger, Martha Boerschinger, Cecilia Marescalco, Mrs. Larry (Elizabeth) Stadler, Agatha (Florian) Fendrick and three brothers, Raymond (Roseann) Darga, Joe (Barb) Darga and John (Judy) Darga and a sister-in-law, Monica Darga.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Finian Darga; four brothers-in-law, and a grandson, Michael Fendryk.
A Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Coleman. Fr. Celestine Byekwaso and Fr. Matthew Gottschalk officiated and burial took place at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Crivitz.
