
Four Young Ladies Are 4-H Queen Candidates The 2008 Marinette County Fair will kick off Thursday, Aug. 21 with the coronation of the 4-H Queen at 5:30 p.m. Four area young women are competing for this year’s title. The candidates are Carly Strutz, Bailey Gabriel, Amber Kaufman and Kristin Lepinski.
Carly Strutz, 16, is the daughter of Craig and Rebecca Strutz of Marinette. A junior at Marinette High School, she is a 7-year member of the Middle Inlet Moonshiners 4-H Club. Wausaukee Voters Say Yes To School Referendum Wausaukee School District voters streaming to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 19 voted nearly two to one in favor of a referendum they know will raise their taxes, and hope will save their school. By unofficial tally Tuesday night, the vote was 1,234 in favor of the referendum and 674 opposed.
Not all municipalities in the district supported the referendum.
