Over 32,000 Attend Marinette County Fair Over 32,000 people attended the Marinette County Fair held Aug. 26-29 at the Wausaukee Fairgrounds. Saturday had the largest attendance in years and attendance at the Saturday night truck pull had approximately 1,500 spectators, the most ever. Mad Dog & Merrill also drew a packed crowd in the pavilion.
There were roofed pavilions, refreshment stands and numerous enclosed barns and display buildings.
The royal couple, Queen Sharon French and King Nehemiah Bex, were crowned in a ceremony on Thursday.

Marinette Co. Board Okays Long Term Care District At what may have been one of their shortest meetings, Marinette County Board on Tuesday, Aug. 31 heard approved a resolution creating “Family Care,” a Long Term Care District to serve frail elderly and adults with physical or developmental disabilities and named Supervisor Kathy Just as their representative on the governing board that will run it. Two Dead In City Vehicle Accident Two persons died as the result of a single car crash early Saturday morning, Aug. 28, in the City of Peshtigo. They were Whitney M. Cook, 24, Marinette and Jacob Michael Brault, 26, Menominee, Mich. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by Marinette County Coroner George Smith.
