Make A Wish of Wisconsin recently granted Sonny Seymour, age 4,  his wish of a new wheelchair accessible shower at his Town of Grover home. Sonny has a medical condition of Wieacher Wolff Syndrome which confines him to a wheel chair.  A wish presentation pizza party for Sonny to show off his new shower was recently held on Jan. 18  with family and friends at his home.  Shown from left are Dad Joey, brothers Blake and Bentley, Mom Kristi, Sonny, and Make A Wish Volunteers Jen and Corey Kuchta.

Advocate Aurora Health Becomes Owner of Bay Area Medical Center

Issue Date: January 23, 2019

Advocate Aurora Health announced today that the health system has signed an agreement to assume full ownership of Bay Area Medical Center. The hospital, to be renamed Aurora Medical Center " Bay Area, has operated since 2014 as a joint venture of Bay Area Medical Center and Aurora Health Care, which merged with Illinois-based Advocate Health Care last year.

The deal is expected to close in mid-year 2019, subject to regulatory approvals.

Salvage Business May Be Coming To Pound

A new business may be coming to the Village of Pound, possibly to the new industrial park.

At the Village Board meeting on Monday, Jan. 7, Sheldon Svenson of DNS Salvage & Recycling Inc. told the board he is interested in buying a property in the village as a site for a recycling and salvage business, but wanted to approach the board first to learn about the zoning laws and be sure his business would be welcome.

BPM Inc, City At Odds Over WWTP Charges

At the Peshtigo Water and Sewer Committee meeting in December, BPM Inc General Manager Jim Koronkiewicz offered to work with the city on ways to reduce the firm's water and sewer costs. Pound Village Board Again Votes To Hire Forensics Audit

Issue Date: January 23, 2019

After an hour of discussion in closed session on Thursday, Jan. 17 with Village Attorney William J. Vande Castle and no one else present, Pound Village Board returned to open session before unanimously approving two motions aimed at getting an outside audit done for the village.
