Senior Club To Meet at Pound

Coleman--The Senior Club of the Pound and Coleman area will meet on Monday, Aug. 3 at 1 pm, at the Pound Community Center.  A brief meeting will be followed by Bingo.  The kitchen help will be Betty Rogalski and Mary Ann Sadorf.

Arleen Resch returned from the South.  All seniors are welcome to attend.

John Deschane To Speak at Loomis Meet

Crivitz--The Loomis Historical Society meeting on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Town of Lake Hall, final plans will be made for Loomis Days, which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 12:30 p.m.

Caregiver Support Meeting Dates

The three Caregiver Support Groups are free and open to the public with refreshments provided. For details, call Marinette County Elderly Services at 715-854-7453 or 800-990-4242. They are for those caring for older adults. The topic during August will be “Caregiver Burnouts”.

6 Area Students Given Scholarships

Athelstane--The Earl A. Heyrman Scholarship Foundation has awarded $4000 scholarships to six 2015 high school graduates who plan to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Architecture.

Those accepting the scholarships include from Brown County, Michael Laes, who will attend Milwaukee School of Engineering, Civil Engineering.

St. Mary Festival at Badger Park Aug. 2

St. Mary Parish Annual Festival is Sunday, Aug. 2 at Badger Park. Fr. Bob Karuhn will officiate at the 10 a.m. outdoor Mass at the band shell and persons should bring lawn chairs for seating. From 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. a picnic type lunch will be available to include grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and Lee’s famous brats, along with chips, baked beans and old-fashioned ice cream cups in a variety of flavors.
