Chenier Leads Marines At Home Invitational

Marinette Finishes 5th

At Marine Invite

Marinette's girl's golf team took fifth at the 13-team Marinette Invitational Monday, held at the challenging Riverside Golf Club in Menominee.

Marinette Girl's Golf Coach Charlie Siem spoke about the course, saying, "It's a hard course that is notorious for high scores. I saw it firsthand last year. We got some practice in the last week or so to prepare for today."

The team shot a 445 collectively. Mariah Chenier had the best Marine score, as she...

Area Teams Take Part in Early Season Invites

After a 15-0 conference championship season last year, the Peshtigo Bulldogs volleyball team looks to keep things heading in the right direction.  The first area of concern for Robin Gilligan's 2016 season is how to replace the MVP of the conference, Teja Tonn, the Defensive Specialist of the Year, Amanda Majewski, and an honorable mention middle hitter, Megan Enderby.

Marines Sink in Fourth Quarter

The Marinette Marines opened their 2016 season at home against the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes Friday night.  The game looked to be going Marinette's way, until FVL took over the fourth quarter to win, 28-20.

Three Teams Start Season with Non-Conference Wins

Coleman Holds

Fast For Win

It was a struggle from start to finish at the Coleman High School football last Friday as the Niagara/ Goodman/ Pembine Northern Elite Predators refused to give up in the 8-0 Cougar win.

There was a lot of breath holding in this one as neither team was able to take the advantage until the second half, when Coleman finally broke into the end zone thanks to a Bryce Karban to Austin Tachick touchdown pass.

"We knew this was going to be tough team," said Coleman Head Coach Jeff ...

Estimated Duck Pop. Down to 48.4 Million

With fall duck hunting seasons just around the corner, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's 2016 continental duck population estimate is down slightly at 48.4 million, but still 38 percent above the long term average. Mallards and green-winged teal population estimates are at record highs, 11.8 million and 4.3 million, respectively. Continental blue-winged teal estimates are at 6.7 million, which is lower than 2015 but still well above the long-term average.

"The habitat was drier this year across much of the breeding grounds, a...
