Marinette County Deer Advisory Council Second Meeting Oct. 28

Deer population objectives for Marinette County during the next three years will be the main topic of discussion at the second County Deer Advisory Council meeting being held this fall at Wausaukee High School Auditorium, on Oct. 28th at 7 pm.

While this is a working meeting of the Marinette County Deer Advisory Council, the public is encouraged to attend and will have a formal opportunity to provide insight during the public comment period.

Peshtigo head coach Jim Stillman’s cross country ensemble had a good showing as a group as well as some individual highlights at the Seymour Invite last Thursday at Crystal Springs Golf Course.

Junior Bulldog distance runner Tyler Nault continues to prove that he can hang with the region’s top runners as he finished in seventh place overall among the 160 runners competing with a time of 16:29.67. The Peshtigo Bulldogs defeated Crivitz, 23-25,18-25, 25-13, 25-14,15-12, in a late-match comeback, that would see the Bulldogs going down two, then win three straight.

The 2014 M-O football campaign is wrapping up and last weekend’s games helped to further seperate the best from the rest in the conference. October Signals The Opening Of Many Furbearer Hunting And Trapping Seasons In Wisconsin

The coyote, bobcat, raccoon, fox, and fisher trapping seasons in Wisconsin will open statewide Oct. 18 at 4 a.m., along with hunting seasons for bobcat, raccoon, and fox.

"Wisconsin has a strong trapping heritage and fall is an exciting time to get out in the fields and forests to appreciate Wisconsin's many natural resources," said John Olson, furbearer biologist with the Department of Natural Resources.
