Carroll, Hansen Triple Winners

With Mike Carroll and Dominick registering three wins each, Coleman claimed both ends of a home triangular Tuesday with 71 points. Lena-STAA was second at 49 and Niagara 45.

Carroll took care of the sprints by winning the 100 meters in 12.27 while adding the long jump 17’4.25 and triple jump 39’2.5. Hansen was just as successful posting first place times in the 100 hurdles (17.25), 300 hurdles (46.7) and high jump 5’4.

Two other Cougars collected first place marks as Brandon Lake won the 1600 in 6:40 and Jordan Gondeck the pole vault at 10’6.

Runner-up Lena-STAA had a pair of double winners as Craig Huberty claimed the shot put (49’7.5) and discus (145’10) while Matt Wubben took care of the 400 (56.0) and 800 meters (2:12).

In the girls meet, Coleman totaled 78 points followed by Lena 57 and Niagara 31.

The top individual performance was turned in by Niagara’s Jenna Carlton with first place efforts in the 100 hurdles (18.01), 1600 (5:56), triple jump (30’4) and 800 (2:39).

The winning Cougars pursed 6 events, including victories in the 1600 and 3200 relays. Hope Process won the 400 in 1:09, Sarah Naegeli 300 hurdles (1:02), Jessica Kust 3200 (14:36) and Morgan Malecki shot put (32’11.5).

Lena-STAA’s Megan Rouer claimed the high jump at 4’6, 200 (28.7) while running the anchor legs on the first place 400 and 800 relays. Marlena Wagner added victories in the 100 and pole vault (9’6).

Crivitz Boys, Suring

Gals Lead Quad Field


Ben Fischer and Randy Martin took home double wins to lift the Crivitz boys to quadrangular honors at Suring Tuesday. The Wolverines totaled 131 points followed by Suring 81, Wabeno 32 and Wolf River 12.

Fischer captured the high jump at 5’10 and the long jump (17’7) while Martin collected wins in the 110 hurdles (17.57) and triple jump (36’4).

Other Crivitz wins came in the 800 relay (1:48.21), 1600 relay (4:15.74), 3200 relay (10:08.46), George Beattie in the 1600 (5:39.50), Justin Perry 400 (56.28), Tyler Murray 800 (2:19.32), Jake Wiedemeier pole vault (11’6) and Evan Kueber shot put (41’2.75).

Suring’s Jay Tienor pocketed wins in the 100 (11.65) and 200 (24.30).

Despite winning just three events, the Suring gals used their depth for 112 points and the win. Crivitz turned 11 wins into 80 points, Wabeno 47 and Wolf River 13.

Suring was first in the 3200 relay (13:24.08), 800 relay (2:12.28) and saw Stormy Gerndt claim the high jump at 4’8.

The Crivitz gals had a triple winner in Emily Mans along with double winners Erin Doolittle, Theresa Orlando and Nicole Pickett.

Mans was first in the 800 meter run (3:00.31), 1600 (6:51.65) before capping her big performance with a winning time of 16:24.37 in the 3200 run.

Doolittle did plenty in the hurdles winning the 100 in 18.80 and 300 event in 58.43, Orlando the 100 (13.29) and 200 (27.95) while Pickett dominated the weights with a toss of 32 feet in the shot and 107’9 in the discus.

The Wolverines also got wins in the pole vault from Amanda LaFave (7’6) while the foursome of Orlando, Nikki Zorn, Victoria Neumann and Pickett teamed up to claim the 400 relay in 57.40.

With Jenna Fabry registering three wins, the Suring gals totaled 62 points to claim the runner-up spot at the Luxemburg-Casco triangular Thursday.

L-C netted top honors with 105 points while Gillett was third at 17.

Fabry enjoyed a big day on the track with first place finishes in the 100 meters (13.44), 200 (28.52) and long jump 13’11.75. She also ran the third leg on the wining 800 relay team at 2:02 along with Stormy Gerndt, Kristen Kresse and Breanne Tienor.

Gerndt tacked on winning marks in the triple jump (32’7.5) and high jump (4’10), while Katherine Woods capped Suring’s winning ways going 7-feet in the pole vault.

Missy Peterson was the top performer for Gillett with a first place toss of 32’4 in the shot put.

In the boys portion of the meet, L-C netted top honors with 94 points followed by Gillett 48 and Suring 44.

The pair of Oconto County schools took home six first place finishes, including a pair from Gillett strongboy John Verhagen. He flipped the discus 119’1 and shot put 44’6 for top honors.

Three more Tigers had winning performances as Kyle Ladwig took the 800 (2:05), Mark Herzog 3200 (11:01) and Logan Christensen pole vault (12’3).

Jay Tienor enjoyed a good day on the track with a winning leap of 5’8 in the high jump along with runner-up finishes in the 100 (11.49) and 200 (23.53).

Suring slammed the high jump with Cody Christensen finishing second (5’6) and Creo VanBellinger third (5’2).
