Bonnie M. Eggener

Bonnie M. Eggener, 52, of Menominee passed away on Monday, May 21 at Roubal Care after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on Dec. 3, 1959 to James and June (Wertelusky) Eggener in Marinette, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1978 and had worked for the Eagle Herald.

She is survived by her parents; a sister, Laurie (David) Biehl of Porterfield; special niece and nephew Corgis: Nicholas Ann, Porter Joe and Reagan Lou and special friend, Michael Bawyn.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marian E. Hoffman

Marian E. Hoffman, 96, of Shawano passed away on Thursday morning, May 17 at St Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, following a brief illness.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Jopek) Wos was born Nov. 28, 1915 in Marinette and attended schools in Lena.

Following school she worked as a residential caretaker near Kelly Lake. On June 15, 1937 she married James V. Hoffman at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spruce and the couple then lived on the Hoffman family homestead. They later moved to Gillett and in 1940 to Clintonville. They stayed in Clintonville until the fall of 1943 when they moved to Beverly Gardens in Brown County where they lived for 11 months. Her husband then took a job running the cheese co-op in Stangelville, where they lived for 15 years. In 1959 they moved to Shawano and purchased the Four Corners Cheese Factory near Pella. She assisted her husband at the cheese factory and raised her children. Her husband, James, retired from cheese making in 1971 and in 1972, the couple moved to Shawano. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2007.

A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano, she loved to cook and bake, was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting family and friends. Other than spending time with her family, she absolutely loved to dance with her husband.

Among survivors are seven children, James, jr. and Richard (Dianne) Hoffman, both of Green Bay and Ronald (Sharon), Jean (Curt) Kupper, Roger (Kathleen), Carl (LuAnn) and Ken (Sallijo) Hoffman, all of Shawano; 19 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; five sisters-in-law, Rosalie Hoffman, May Weier, Marlene Rosner, Rena Hoffman and Irene Wos and three brothers-in-law, Alfred Hoffman, Eugene Hoffman and Marvin Rosner.

Along with her parents and her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Schmitt, Margaret Swaer and Josephine Pawlak; a brother, Roman Wos; a daughter-in-law, Janet Hoffman; seven brothers-in-law, Arnold "Smoky" Schmitt, Norbert Swaer, John Pawlak, Leo Hoffman, Elger Hoffman, Elwyn Stodola and Hank Weier and sisters-in-law, Emma Stodola, Dorothy Hoffman and Helen Hoffman.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 22 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Len Evers officiated and entombment was in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Relatives and friends called at the Church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass. Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano was in charge of the arrangements.
