Jean Evelyn (Coatware) Knabenshue, 81, of Redding, Calif., a former Niagara resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4.
Born on March 22, 1931 to Evelyn and Leslie Coatware in Iron Mountain, Mi., she was the 2nd of four children.
On Aug. 26, 1950 she married Frank Knabenshue in Iron Mountain. In August of 1964 he was transferred to Anderson, Calif. and they remained in Shasta County since. He retired in 1990 and the couple then spent the summers in Iron Mountain until 2008.
Among survivors are her husband of 61 years, Frank; two daughters, Beverly (Bob) Drumm of Redding, Calif. and Brenda (Ron) Brown of Eugene, Ore.; a son, Bruce (Bonnie) of Anderson, Calif.; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and two sisters, Judy Olsen of Iron Mountain and Victoria Hoffer of Sun City, Ariz.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, David Coatware.
At her request, no services were held. Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding handled the arrangements. Memorial donations are appreciated to Mercy Hospice or a Brand New Day.
