Doug Kwiatkowski Golf Outing at Hunters Glen The 8th annual Doug Kwiatkowski Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, July 28 at Hunters Glen Golf Course in Crivitz. The 18 hole, four-person Scramble event will have four flite prizes awarded using the single- round handicap system. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM with a shot-gun start at 9:30 a.m. An optional “skins” competition and prize events on every hole will increase the challenge. Witt Auto will provide a 2 year lease of a new 2012 Ford Focus to the winner of the major hole-in-one contest. Numerous cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded golf competitions and hole events. Quality merchandise, works of art, and just some “nice stuff” will be made available by area businesses and organizations for raffle prizes. The day will conclude with a banquet featuring Gateway's chicken and the awarding of trophies and prizes.
Registration will be available through July 22 or until 36 teams are entered. Registration forms can be obtained at the Hunters Glen Golf Club, (715) 854-8008, by contacting Dave Kwiatkowski at (715) 854-7887 or by visiting one of the sponsors. There will be bright gold and blue postings in Crivitz and Wausaukee.
The registration fee is $280 per foursome or $75 per individual golfer. This fee includes green fees, riding cart, flite and hole competitions, mid-round brats and burgers, free beer during and after golf, complimentary cocktails, and the awards banquet.
All proceeds for the event will be used by the Douglas Kwiatkowski “A Place for You” Memorial Foundation for area youth scholarships and life-affirming events.
Participants and sponsors can meet this year's scholarship recipients: Lacey Kroll and Jesse Parr, as well as continuing scholarship students: Kortney Groeschl, Brooke Wickman, Kate Morrison, Ocean Sikowski and Kara DeLaet. Alumni scholars: Brent Kroll, Bradley Taylor, Nora Cherry, Andy Polzin, Carolee Morrison, and Carrie Hartz may also be honored.
The fun-filled event in memory of Doug is made possible through the generosity of the major sponsors: Hunter's Glen Golf Club, Witt Auto, Macco's Floor Covering, Witt's Piggly Wiggly, Gateway Inn and Grill, Popp's Resort, Crivitz Veterinary Clinic, Barb Yaeger's Resource One Realty, Bill's Four Seasons Sales, Rene's Dining, Pomeroy Forest Products, Nicolet Forest Bottling, Kempka Excavating, Sandstone Storage, Highline Bar and Grill, Nicolet National Bank, Country Inn, A & C Sawdust, and Faith Presbyterian Church.
