Doug Kwiatkowski Memorial Golf Provides Fun and Funds for Youth

The 8th Annual Doug Kwiatkowski Memorial Golf Outing, held on Saturday, July 28 at Hunter's Glen Golf Course of Crivitz, was again a huge success. A total of 52 golfers took part.

The Douglas Kwiatkowski Memorial Foundation will again provide new youth scholarships to the class of 2013 in Crivitz and Wausaukee High School. The 2012 scholarship recipients, Lacey Kroll of Crivitz and Jesse Parr of Wausaukee, as well the 2011 Wausaukee scholar, Brooke Wickman, were in attendance to meet the golfers and assist with the event.

The Foundation will continue to provide youth activities in the Crivitz and Wausaukee areas for the coming year. The C.E.S.A.-8 Victory Olympics has been selected as 2012 Outstanding Youth Service Group and Diane Rivard, the founder and director of the event, was presented a check for $250 at the outing.

The Foundation hopes to provide an additional donation to the group following the 6th Annual Blueberry Crawl Pool Tournament slated for March.

Over the past seven years, the Foundation has made contributions to the Crivitz High School Science Club, Twin Bridge Waterski Team, Crivitz Youth Football, Crivitz High School Band, Crivitz High School Golf program, Crivitz Ski-Cats, Faith Presbyterian Youth Group, Crivitz Youth Baseball, Amberg Area Food Pantry, Crivitz Area Food Pantry, Families of Children with Cancer, Habitat for Humanity, and to number of homeless service agencies, as well for emergency assistance to families in crisis in the northeastern Wisconsin area.

While contributing to the brighter future of area youth, the event also provided fun and prizesd. In the Foursome Scramble Competition, the “Scratch” Flite was won by the Hunters Glen Team team of Dave Warnicke, Dave Larson, Joe Kwiatkowski and Tom Marking, who registered an outstanding round of 14 under par 58.

The Murphy Insurance Team of Jim and Mike Murphy, David Block and Keith Meyer took the Handicapped Flite honors with an impressive two under par round of 70 gross and a net score of 67.

The “On the Fence” winners were the team of Jeff Weber, Nick Witt, Garret Witt and Jeff Banaszak with a score of 8 under par- 64, and the High Gross award went to the fun-loving team of Daryll Orlowski, John Guerqueire, Tommy Grusczynski, Pat Donahue and Kevin Niedweeck.

Two “skins” were won and one donated to the foundation $66 each. The Drier/Edlebeck team of Bill Drier and Jeff, Ken and John Edlebeck claimed one skin on hole 4 and the Irrigation Doctors Team of Wayne, Dennis and Jon Hultman and Matt Early claimed the second skin on hole 14.

Brandon Gerbaciak won the A.J. Hawk Framed Print donated by Rene's Dining Room for the Closest to the Pin competition on #2. Hole-In-One contests sponsored by Witt Auto provided a two-year lease of a 2012 Ford Focus on #8, Witt's Piggly Wiggly & True Value providing a Husqvarna Riding Lawnmower on #17, and Hunter's Glen providing a free annual membership on #13..

Although there were no hole-in-one winners, two special “Golfers Only” raffle prizes were given. Dave Larson won two Packer tickets provided by Sandstone Storage; and Nick Witt got the autographed Lienenkugel Canoe Paddle donated by M.J. Plowing and Recovery.

Jeff Edlebeck won the Grand Prize in the merchandise raffle of a “Summer Tour of Golf” package provided by Hunters Glen, including five golf packages at superb Wisconsin and U.P. golf locations.

The first prize “Go with the Flowage” package, included a one night “Suite” at Popp's Resort, a one day pontoon rental from Sandstone Storage and Bill's Four Seasons Sales and Service, and gift certificates at Rene's Dining, Tommy's Corner Pub and Dan and Tim's Riverside Inn was won by Eric Corbeille.

The second prize "Waubee Lake Lodge Getaway" was won by Matt (Duke) Early. Eighteen “fun” hole prizes were awarded and over 100 merchandise prizes and gift certificates were distributed. No one left without a gift or prize thanks to the generosity of the many sponsors.

The Kwiatkowski family and all involved with the Foundation would like to thank all the sponsors, contributors, volunteers and participants for making this year's golf outing and fund-raising event such a joy and a success for all! And as always� All the Glory Be to God!!
