Winners In Memorial Couples Golf Tourney
A total of 90 golfers competed in the 2012 Memorial Couples Golf Tournament at Little River Country Club over the weekend. The golfing format was changed from an alternate shot to a combination of alternate shot, scramble and bestball.
The tournament was held in honor of Bob Pearce of Peshtigo, who was a longtime member of Little River and participated in the event numerous times.
Bob was missed dearly by the golfers who always enjoyed his smile and a little snort with the man, Pete Kretz of LRCC said.
In spite of the change, the winners remained the same as Matt and Nicky Arn of Freeport, Illinois fired a 9-under par to claim the championship for the third time.
The Arn duo shot rounds of 67-672 for a 129 score and beat Jim Wagner and Molly Mahan 141 (72-69) for the championship flight honors. Mike and Michelle Mansfield were third at 144 (71-73) with a tie for 4th place at 145 between Bob Koehn and Marlea Spaude along with Jim and Sharon Ehlers.
