Carol VandenBoogart

Carol VandenBoogart, 68, passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 15.

Born on Nov. 25, 1943 in Oconto to Elmer and Kathryn (Lipp) Belongia, after graduating from Green Bay West High School she worked at Alwins Manufacturing, Red Owl Bakery and Bay City Cab.

While working at Bay City Cab, she met her husband, Dennis VandenBoogart and the couple was married on May 8, 1971 and welcomed their only daughter, Kelly, in 1977. She then purchased Bay City Cab and throughout this endeavor built many lasting relationships with customers, employees, and businesses in the area.

She enjoyed shopping and traveling on cruises and vacations, including places such as Australia, Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Orlando, Miami, Boston, San Diego and many others. She was a long-term member of the PBX Telecommunicators Club, through which she formed many friendships and was named International Boss of the Year. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing cards, dancing, bowling, watching tennis tournaments and crime-based television series and most importantly to her, spending time with family and loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly; two sisters, Laverne Salmon and Helen (Robert) Wellens; mother-in-law, Arlene VandenBoogart; sister-in-law, Nancy White; nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family. She is also survived by friends, Margaret Miracle, Marie Yuchnitz, Sharon Ahern and Brenda and Alana Deprey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis; a brother, Russell; a brother-in-law, Richard Salmon; a sister-in-law, Shirley Zinda; a nephew, Theodore (Butch) Peters, jr. and a friend, Daniel Miracle.

Friends called at Blaney Funeral Home, Green Bay from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19. Visitation continued at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 with a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m.
