Plan Benefit For Dave Wandke, Cancer Patient
Three fundraisers are planned for Dave Wandke, owner of A-1 Key Plumbing of Peshtigo, who was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer. He is undergoing 15 weeks of chemotherapy to see if the cancer can be shrunk enough for surgery. While he is unable to work, neighbors, friends and family are rallying behind the family to raise money to help with their $15,000 insurance deductible and numerous other medical expenses.
The first event is a Schwans fundraiser. Catalogs and order forms of Schwans products are available from Dave Junak or Barb Peterson. The order forms are to be returned to either one by Thursday, Dec. 13th and the orders must be picked up on Saturday, Dec. 15th at the Peshtigo National Bank Parking Lot from noon until 6:30 p.m. Using the event code number 41443 customers may order gift cards from the website www.schwans.com or by calling 888-724-9267. The profits for the Wandke family will be a scaled percent of sales from the day.
A second event is a benefit on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 1-5 P.M. at Schusslers Supper Club, Peshtigo. Tickets will be available at the door. They are $15 for adults, $8 for children age 12 and under, and those younger than 5 are free. Hors doeuvres, a cash bar, live and silent auctions, gun raffle, 50/50 and games of skill will be part of the activities. The committee is gathering auction items. Anyone who would like to make a donation contact John Willmann at 715-582-4638.
