V/Wausaukee Is Approved For Loan
The Village of Wausaukee has been approved for an $800,000 loan by the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL) from the State Trust Fund.
Purpose of the loan is to finance wastewater projects. The loan is for 10 years at an interest rate of 2.75 percent.
The loan was among 13 applications approved by the BCPL for grants totaling $16.1 million to fund public purpose projects in 10 communities. Loans can be made to municipalities and school districts for any public purpose.
A majority of State Trust Fund assets are held in the Common School Fund, from which the majority of State Trust Fund loans are issued. Earnings from the fund are distributed to K-12 public school libraries annually. A total of $32.5 million was distributed to public school libraries in 2012.
