At the Dec. 10 meeting of the Coleman-Pound Lions Club, held at Bob and Laura's Supper Club, President Mike Kinziger presided for the annual "Ladies Night". Reports of the treasurer and secretary were tabled as well as correspondence until January.
Kinziger introduced the coaches of the recent State Champion baseball team including Head Coach Kent Casper and assistants Chris Gould, Doug Jahnke, and Todd Olsen. Also introduced was a special guest Ken Casper.
Following dinner, Ted Verges presented plaques to the coaches on behalf of the Lions. Casper then spoke about his memories of the season and the high character qualities of the members of the team. Verges presented a plaque to Casper in recognition of his work in starting the baseball program at Coleman High School and in getting the baseball and softball fields constructed.
After door prizes were awarded the meeting was adjourned. Dave Pellman was the raffle prize winner who consequently will be responsible for the January raffle prize. Members and guests then stayed to bag candy for Santa's visit to the Coleman school.
