THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Bundle Up for Area Charities
The Wisconsin Department of Tourism and the state's tourism industry hope to make the winter a little warmer for those in need.
The Department has launched "The Big Bundle Up," a statewide charity drive to collect new and gently used gloves, hats, scarves, coats, sweaters , sweatshirts, and other winter gear for men, women, teens and children that will be donated to charities and persons in need.
The Marinette Welcome Center has partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism in support of the effort. Persons can stop by 1680 Bridge Street and drop off new or gently used winter items. Items will be collected through Jan. 4.
Local businesses have contributed valuable amounts of coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, mittens, gloves collected at their workplace during the past several weeks.
There is a large donation box inside the Welcome Center, and items may be dropped off from 10 am - 3 pm Monday through Friday.
If residents know of families in need, call the Center at 715-732-4333.
