Marcellina Estel Friends called at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, for Marcellina “Marcy” Estel, 79, of Green Bay.
Visitation continued on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Green Bay after 9:30 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Tony Cirignani, OFM officiated and entombment was at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. She died Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence, following a long illness.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Dubois) Denis was born Feb. 27, 1933 in the Town of Humboldt. She graduated from Waterdivision Elementary School and attended Luxemburg High School.
She married Robert Estel on Nov. 7, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. She was employed as a seamstress for Northtrail Sporting Goods and later as a cook at numerous Green Bay health care facilities. She loved to dance and was a member of the Green Bay Squares. She also enjoyed playing dominos, cards, camping, traveling and spending time with her family. She had a passion for quilting and sewing and shared her gift with family and friends. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Parish for over 55 years.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; five children, Judy Arendt of Green Bay, June (Keith) Anderson of Amberg, Mike (Colleen) Estel of Grafton, Chris (Andy) Lampereur of Cedarburg and Rich (Suzanne) Estel of Hayward; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Denis of Green Bay; a sister, Donna Hermans of Luxemburg; a brother-in-law, Ben (Elaine) Estel of Luxemburg; two sisters-in-law, Hildegard Jonet of Green Bay and Betty (Donald) Ledvina of Luxemburg and nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Donald Denis; four sisters, Beatrice (Bob) Van Pay, Florence (George) Balza, Arleen (Harvey) Miller and Grace Denis; two infant sisters, Dorothy and Audrey Denis; a sister-in-law, Delores Denis and a brother-in-law, Larry Hermans. She was also preceded in death by members of her husband’s family, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter and Caroline Estel and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Raymond (Betty) Estel, Peter (Alice) Estel, Eleanore (Jake) Wachal, Stacy (Frank) Krines, Millie (Eben) Vandeveld and Norman Jonet.
