Students Given Shallow Awards
In the late 1970's William and Muriel Kleczka established the Moses and Caroline Shallow (MCS) Scholarship Foundation in memory of her parents. Since that time, over 100 college students have benefited from the scholarship and the foundation has paid out over $1.3 million.
Recipients who have been awarded $1,650 for the 2013 spring semester are Brooke Arndt, Patrice Fick, Trista Fick, Karlie Francour, Georgi Kapalczynski, Vicky Kubicz, Douglas Meyer, Hannah Pecard, Sarah Pecard, Nicole Pickett, Sarah Primakow, Joseph Schuelke, Katlin Schuelke, Justin Struve, and Molly Willmann.
The MCS Scholarship application deadlines are July 1st for the Fall Semester and Jan. 1st for the Spring Semester. New applicants must reside in Marinette County, be enrolled in a qualifying field of study (Education, Engineering, Medicine, Nursing Pharmaceutics or a Natural/Applied Science) at an accredited college or university, have at least a 3.3 GPA, be of high moral character, and demonstrate some measure of financial need. Once qualified, scholarship recipients may reapply every semester as long as they meet certain criteria.
