Hosting Notre Dame in a non-league clash Friday, the Menominee Maroons (6-8) trailed 30-20 at intermission before closing the gap to 39-35 heading into the fourth quarter. Down the stretch, missed shots plagued the Menominee comeback as the Tritons sealed the win with a 11-6 surge over the final 8 minutes..
We played well, but our shooting did us in. We made just 13 of 57 shots and that was the story of the game, Maroon coach Pete Pericolosi said.
The Maroons struggled to open the fourth quarter as a couple of turnovers and failed shots enabled Notre Dame to own a 46-35 edge with 4:50 left.
Bryan Hines paced Menominee with 14 points, Jared Rivard added 9, Travis Champeau 6 while Devon Harris chipped in with 4 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
Ben Bobinski tallied 17 points for Notre Dame.
Menominee came up short in the jayvee game 57-39 and the frosh outing 57-53.
