THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Regina Anna Emma (Zeitler) Gardell, 93, of Coleman passed away Friday, Feb. 22 at Sharpe Care Nursing Home, Oconto Falls.
Born to the late Otto and Elsa Zeitler on July 2, 1919, she married Earl Gardell on Sept. 1, 1948 in Marinette. He preceded her in death in 1992. She enjoyed reading and crafting and was an avid homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Melvin (Karen) Gardell of Pewaukee, Alfred Gardell and Cindy Gardell, both of Pound, Cheryl Olejniczak and Linda (Elmer) Sampo, both of Green Bay, Robert Gardell of Wausaukee and Elsie (Vern) Jackett of Sheboygan; six grandchildren including grandson, Pvt. Sean Jackett who is currently serving in Afghanistan; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Angie.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Joann and Karol Empkee and brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives called at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman on Monday, Feb. 25 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 4 p.m. Pastor Nick Johannes officiated and she was laid to rest at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Marinette.
