Organ Orange is hosting its bi-annual fundraising event for organ, tissue, and eye donation awareness. Whether a competitive runner or ready to get out and enjoy some fresh spring air, the event is Saturday, April 20th in Coleman.
The Dot Trot includes a competitive, timed, 5K run/walk and a 2 mile fun run/walk. Registration and packet pick-up will be held in Coleman High School gym Friday, April 19th from 4 to 6 p.m. and prior to the race on Saturday, April 20th from 7 to 8:45 a.m. Both events will kick off at Coleman High School at 9 a.m. Registration fee is $25 for the 5K run/walk and $20 for the 2 mile fun run/walk if registered prior to April 1st. Cost will be $5 more if registered for either event after April 1st. Badger Bouncers will be onsite for the kids. Dottie the Donor Dot will visit from Yes I Will Wisconsin and free blood pressure checks will be available.
All proceeds benefit Organ Orange. Organ Orange is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to advancing organ donation awareness in northeast Wisconsin.
Organ Orange, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was created after the founder Layne Skrupky was diagnosed with a genetic liver disease, Wilson's disease. This disease had compromised his liver function and he found himself placed on the UNOS waiting list with over 110,000 other individuals. He created this organization to increase awareness about the need for organ, tissue, and eye donation in Northeast Wisconsin.
