Obelia L. Hansen, 85, of Daggett, Mi. passed away on Sunday, March 17 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
The former Obelia Smith was born on July 4, 1927 in Amasa, Mi. to the late Vernie and Ethel May (Palmer) Smith. In 1955 she married Wilfred Hansen and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2002.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts from which she received many ribbons at the Fair. She further enjoyed a good game of cards and camping, but spending time with family is what she enjoyed most. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and St. Mary's Sanctuary Society.
Survivors include eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, Stanley Shoemaker and Junior Smith.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Roseann Kintgen; a son, Joseph O'Brien and six brothers and a sister.
Family and friends may call at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, Mi. on Wednesday, March 20 from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery.
