Wagner Fire Department Gets $1601 from Card Series

Issue Date: March 27, 2013

The Golden Opportunity and Kountry Kids 4-H clubs and Wagner Volunteer Fire Department Cadets held their last card party of the series on Saturday, March 23 at the Wagner Town Hall.

Each game winner received $5 from an anonymous donor. Winner in 50 for the adults was Diane Hueter and kids was Bethanie Hueter. In Pinochle winners were for the men, Erv Krukowski and for the women, Renee Woodward. Smear winners for the men was Rick Rickaby and for the women, Betty Harbick. The grand series high in 50 for adults was Paul Hueter and kids was Zayn Kowalski. The grand series high in Pinochle for men was Walton Johnson and for women Vicki Lempke. The grand series high in Smear for men was Len Sadowski and for women Melissa Christiansen. Each winner received $5.

The children 's raffle winners were Melanie Brieno, Easter basket from Kountry Kids; Callum Rickaby and Emily Caylor two bottle of bubbles from Rick Rickabys; Mattie Renikow candy jar from the Retza family; Austin Guns stuffed duck and bunny Easter basket from the Will Labunskis; Mattie Renikow rocket from Biernasz Logging; stuffed bear from Callum Rickaby, Kowalskis; stuffed bear from the Krukowskis, Tina Kowalski; and a chocolate bunny from Connor Walters, Chloe Meyers.

Weekly raffle winners were fire extinguisher from Franklin Suennen to Vicki Lempke; tie blanket made by Ember Rickaby, Vicki Lempke; Tractor Supply plant kit went to Melanie Brieno; bird houses made and donated by Walter Wickman to Dorothy Suennen and Sierra O 'Mary; mittens made by Lynda Caylor to Ember Rickaby; DeYoung Family Zoo passes, Kowalskis to Nancy Meyers and Amber Caylor.

Cake made and donated by Sandi Brumbaugh to Gladys Horeeng; tote bag from Biernasz Logging to Kowalskis; mixer by Alastair Rickaby to Donna Ruleau; tote bag made by Ember Rickaby went to Betty Harbick; cookies, towel and cloth from Sandi and Mary Brumbaugh to Nancy Meyers; kitchen basket from Toni Goldschmidt to Carol Grinsteiner.

Plaque from Marissa Burg went to Donna Ruleau; shower curtain from Dorothy Suennen to Franklin Suennen; plaque from Connor Walters to Rick Rickaby; charcoal starter from the We Store of Wausaukee to Cole Caylor; Redneck Wind Chime from Barb Berton to Gladys Horneeng; afghan made by Betty Cherry to Fred Stemke; crochet headband made by Eryn and Rebekah Wickman to Pauline Zahorik; mittens made by Martha Malek went to Marlys Limberg.

Stained glass by Hannah Baumler went to Dorothy Suennen; hair supplies by Margo Renikow-Salon 615 went to Vicki Lempke and Donna Ruleau; bird house made by Mike Caylor to Gladys Horneeng; book/treat basket by Wickmans to Tina Kowalski; shampoo from Dorothy Suennen to Gladys Horneeng; and tool set from Schuette 's, Amber Caylor.

Gift certificates were given from Northwoods Evergreen fish fry to Donna Ruleau; Lee 's Family Foods of Peshtigo to Toni Vieth; and Gary 's IGA of Stephenson to Roger Vista; $20 Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home to Mary LeClaire; two $20 from Corner Grille in Porterfield to Marlys Limberg and Allastair Rickaby; pizza or chicken from Heritage Inn to Amber Caylor; oil change from Car Quest went to Marilyn Wickman; $10 from Heaven & Natural Floral in Crivitz to Emily Caylor; and $20 from Phat Daddys in Crivitz, Ken Limberg.

Grand prize winners included large fire extinguisher from Franklin Suennen went to Katherynn Rozinka; $50 cash from Biernasz Logging to Vicki Lempke; afghan and pillow made by Anita Suennen to Rick Rickaby; quilt made by the Porterfield Lutheran Quilters to Todd Rye; mini shop vac from Schuettes, Sara Walters; Porterfield Country Music Festival day pass, Toni Vieth.

Porterfield Cruisin Oldies day pass went to Melissa Christiansen; deer clock by Jim Goldschmidt to Joan Krukowski; afghan by Linda Fronsee to Pauline Zahorik; $25 gift certificate by JC Powersports went to Sara Walters.

Party-Lite gift basket and crystal votive set by Cheryl Brix went to Pauline Zahorik; bird feeder by Wally Wickman to Ken Limberg; solar bird house by Wally Wickman to Maggie Philipps; wall plaque by Sew Crafty of Peshtigo went to Mary LeClaire and a tool set by Schuette 's, Wally Wickman.

One door prize was donated by Alastair Rickaby, Biernasz Logging, Retza family, Betty Cherry, On A Whim from Crivitz, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Heritage Inn, and Bank North; two prizes Wickman family, Ken Limbergs, Subway of Peshtigo and Walt Johnsons; three prizes Dorothy Suennen; four prizes Ember Rickaby; and five prizes Anita Suennen.

Silent auction items were whoopee pies made by Ember Rickaby to Rebekah Wickman; egg tree made by Louann Petersen went to Tina Kowalski; and coconut cake made by Stacy Sturmer to Lynda Caylor. Winner of the 50-50 raffle was Mary Labunski.

Donating food were Ember and Rick Rickaby, Lynn Sturmer, Lynda Caylor, Sierra O 'Mary, Zayn and Tina Kowalski, Dorothy Suennen, Melanie Brieno, Renee Woodward, Melissa Christiansen, Patty Anderson, Jean Sievert and Luann Petersen.

Working from the Golden Opportunity Club were Ember Rickaby, leader, Tina and Zayn Kowalski, Melany Brieno, Marissa Burg, Maddy Golueke, Rebekah Wickman, Rick, Ricky, Alastair and Callum Rickaby and Sandi Brumbaugh.

Cadets included Franklin Suennen, Paul, Nathaniel, Bethanie and Diane Hueter, Hannah Baumler and Lynn and Stacy Sturmer. Helping from the Kountry Kids 4-H were Sierra O 'Mary, Jeana Biernasz, Matti Renikow, and leader Anne Biernasz.

The approximate amount of money raised for the Wagner Volunteer Fire Department is $1,601. Everyone who helped make the card parties a success in anyway is thanked.
