David J. Lane
David J. Lane, 85, of Howard passed away at Bellin Hospital on Saturday, March 23.
Born in Milwaukee on Apr. 25, 1927, to the late Thomas and Emily (Kraszewski) Laganowski, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1944 to 1946 and was a veteran of World War II.
He married Patricia Boyle in Waukegan, Ill. on June 5, 1970. They lived in Crivitz for 37 years prior to moving to Howard. He worked in marketing and sales for 3M, Culligan of Marinette and North American Philips. Over the years he was involved in many activities and was a member of the Lions Club and was state advisor of the Historical Society to School Services. He was president and founder of the Green Bay Ski Club, president of the Marinette County Historical Society, curator of the Crivitz Museum and member of the Crivitz Ski Cats. He enjoyed water skiing, boating and hunting. His passion was the Green Bay Packers. He loved history, especially the Civil War. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Howard Suamico Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Pat) Lane; children, Paul (Pam) Lane of Fond du Lac, Ted (Veronica) Lane of Jacksonville, Fla. and Teri (Kevin) Chatham of Jackson; two grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Kleba of Appleton and nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Etcheverry.
Family and friends may call for a memorial gathering at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave., Howard on Tuesday, April. 2 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Rev. John Bergstadt will officiate and military honors will follow the service. Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, Suamico is serving the family.
