Arnold L. Smith, 82, of the Town of Beaver died Friday, April 5 after a long illness.
Born on March 4, 1931 in the Town of Beaver, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Lillian (Beaber) Smith.
Logging was not only his lifes work, but something he enjoyed. He coveted the outdoors, hunting and fishing and antique cars. Helping friends was always a priority. A United States Marine veteran, he was a member of the Coleman American Legion.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law and six sisters.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman from noon on Friday, April 12 until time of the funeral services at 2 p.m. Duane Wardecke will officiate and burial with military rites will be in First Baptist Cemetery, Pound. Pallbearers will be Mark, Dan and Jodie Rost, Don Mayer and Darrell and Norman Walker. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for the American Lung Association has been established.
