Womans Club Annual Event
Pound--The Pound Woman's club held their Tuesday, April 9, meeting at the Coleman Area Rescue Squad building in Coleman. Curt Tisler, squad president and a member for 24 years, explained the history of the squad and its responsibilities. Presently the squad has 25 members who live with five miles of Coleman. He showed all the items inside an ambulance, the significance of the items, and placement of them.
Senior Recognition night is May 29 at 7 p.m. when two scholarships will be given by the club to a Coleman High School senior. A $200 donation from the family of deceased member Vicki Lewandowski will be used for a scholarship in her memory.
The annual yard sale for scholarship is June 12-14 at the Al Salewski Produce Stand in Beaver. Anyone having items to donate can call Donna at 920-591-0568. The Spring banquet is May 14 and in June 2014, the village of Pound will celebrate its 100 years as a village. Meeting co-hostesses were Jan Sadowski and Mary Meyer.
