Nasty Weather Hinders Menominee Trap Shooters
The Menominee Woods and Stream Sportsman 's Club saw some nasty weather on Tuesday, April 9 result in a low turnout of shooting as Jim Anderla (23) and Paul Korn (23) had the only high scores.
High Squad was shot by Jim Anderla (23), Paul Korn (23), Ron Kakuk (16), Frank Kordish (21) and Charlie Nagler (16) for a total of 99.
The Menominee trap range is open on Tuesdays from 11am-2pm and 5pm-9pm then again on Thursday from 5pm-9pm. The summer trap league will begin on Tuesday, May 7 with registration sheets available in the clubhouse. Those who did not shoot on the league last year but would like to do so this year may put their names on the Available Shooter list. Any team already filled up with seven shooters, should come out and get everyone registered. A pre-league meeting will be held in the clubhouse on Tuesday, April 30 about 6:30pm. All league shooters are urged to attend.
The trap range is open to all area shot gunners, whether to shoot in the league or only an occasional night just for fun. To join in the fun just come out to the club on any Tuesday and Thursday at N3675 County Road 577, about 10 miles north of Menominee.
Lake Noquebay Results
Darryl Zernia found the mark for a perfect round of 25 targets during the April 8 trap league at the Lake Noquebay Sportsmans Club. Hitting scores of 23 were Brandon Gauthier, Rick Shubert, Boz Stumbris and Tom Volk.
Inlet Electric totaled a score of 109 to remain in first place during week 14.
Peshtigo Gun Club
Top shooters at the Peshtigo Gun Club last week were posted by Eric VanHulle 24-24 and Darin Williams 24.
Final second half winter league standings are Northwood Flooring 7-0-1, Marinette Farm & Garden 6-2, Nelson Freight I 4-2-2, Nelson Freight II 4-4, Mike & Jeans I 4-2, Mike & Jeans II 2-6 and Nelson Freight III 0-8.
Northwood Flooring, winner of the second half, will have a shoot off with Nelson Freight III to determine the league champion.
Top averages belong to Rand Lange 22.94, Jim Jandt 22.75, Darin Williams 22.63, Dave Seymour 22.38, Ron Banach 22.31, Eric VanHulle 22.00, Jeff Starks 21.88, Jon Nelson 21.81, Mike Murphy 21.75 and Larry Westbrook 21.63.
The 2013 summer league is to begin Wednesday May 1 and run until August 21 with league scores shot on Wednesdays and Sundays. All shooters will have until the end of the third week to be current with three scores. Team registrations sheets are available at the clubhouse which can be completed and returned. New teams and members are welcome.
The club is open to public and members every Wednesday evening from 5pm to 10pm and every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, and is located on Pheasant Farm Road just off County RW.
