Auxiliary Unit 66 Holds Election Officers
Athelstane/Silver Cliff American Legion Auxiliary Unit 66 held its regular meeting on Saturday, April 6th at the Silver Cliff Town Hall. The meeting was called to order by vice-president Ann Wender and secretary Jean Janowski and treasurer Priscilla Maeder gave their reports which were accepted as read.
The first order of business was purchase of new shirts. Several different sizes will be ordered and any members wishing to purchase a shirt should contact president Ann Wender or Maeder.
The Ninth District Spring Conference is in Kimberly on May 11th. Members wishing to attend should contact Dee Farley for registration information. Membership report given by Lois Haase listed 78 members with 65 seniors and 13 juniors. Badger State Girls this year are Alyssa Ferrington and Bethany Gabriel, both Wausaukee High School junior class members. Their orientation is 7 PM on May 6th at Wausaukee High School. At the annual Memorial Day Picnic junior members will help with children's games. Persons wishing to volunteer at the picnic should contact Wender.
Officers elected for 2013 and 2014 are president, Ann Wender; vice president, Dee Farley; secretary, Karen Ladd; treasurer, Priscilla Maeder; membership, Chair Lois Haase; and historian Barb Van Boxtel. They will be installed on Tuesday, May 23rd by Past District President Cora Gavigan.
The next meeting of Unit 66 will be at 1 PM on May 11 at the Silver Cliff Town Hall. There will be no meeting in June.
