THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Larry Snipe Dura, 68, of Marinette passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 19.
Born on Jan. 13, 1945, son of the late Jacob and Mary (Plosczysnki) Dura, he married the former Cheryl Durocher on Feb. 19, 1966 at Holy Family Church in Marinette.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, ice races and spending time with his family and friends He retired from working at Biehl Construction & Excavation.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl; three sons, Rick Taco (special friend, Diana Borowski) Dura, Paul (special friend, Kim Wojciehowski) Dura and Mike Spike (wife, Michele Chmela) Dura; two daughters, Brenda (special friend, Travis Emmes) Dura and Kris (special friend, Todd Stehle) Plym; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six brothers, Jim (Betty), Ray (Rosalie), Len (Laurie), Dan (Kaye), Tom (Theresa) and Bob (Lori) and five sisters, Mag Miller, Julie Weber, Mary Jane (special friend, Tom) Buzek, Rita (Lloyd) Angwall and Clare (Lou) Miller.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Marvin Miller, Ken Bohling and Kojak Fritzjunker.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 22 at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home, Peshtigo from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed with a parish wake. Visitation continued on Tuesday, April 23 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 10 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette.
