Car, Lightning Cause Outages
A car striking an electric power pole near the Wausaukee High School on Hillside Road near County Road C left 1,415 customers of Wisconsin Public Service without power for about three hours Monday, April 29.
Jenny Short, WPS public relations at Menominee, Mich., reported the accident happened about 3:15 p.m. and power was restored at 6:30 p.m. The pole had to be replaced.
Lightning on Tuesday morning, April 30, also caused small outages in Menekaunee at Marinette and Lena on County Road A. About 25 customers in each area were affected. There was also a hit on Hall Road in the Town of Grover but no customers were affected.
