Dale P. Bundy
Dale Patrick Jug Bundy, 73, of Peshtigo/Menominee passed away at St. Marys Hospital in Green Bay on Monday, April 29.
Born on Aug. 24, 1939 at home in Peshtigo while the Doctor was in the outhouse and the mid-wife delivered him. He was number six of seven children of Walter and Viola (Deschaine) Bundy.
He attended Peshtigo schools earning his major P letter as a freshman in football. He loved to hunt and fish as a youth, spending much time in the woods. He worked for Thompson Boat and Hartwigs Gas Station and then at Badger Paper Mills where he was employed for 38 years. He operated the crane stacking log piles.
On June 24, 1967 he married Carol Dewane at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menominee and they celebrated 45 years of marriage last year in the hospital as he was ill. The couple had one daughter, Anastasia born on April 8, 1968. They started trap shooting in 1972 at the Oconto Gun Club and traveled the U.S. for 30 years shooting trap, shopping and making new friends. He won many trophies throughout his shooting career in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota and South Dakota, his favorite trophy being a doubles from nationals and his high average years in both Peshtigo and Oconto Gun Clubs. He did not win the Peshtigo Gun Club yearly trophy with a 49/50 under the 50/50 of C.B. He served as president at the Oconto Gun Club when they built the club house. On Dec. 7, 1973 he became a member of the Catholic Church being baptized, confirmed and received First Communion at St. Mary Church in Peshtigo. He was blessed with 20 years of life after bypass surgery in 1992 and enjoyed his granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; a daughter, Anastasia Marie (fiance, Farooq) Bundy; one granddaughter; three sisters, Shirley Pentony, Rose Marie Schingick and Sandra (David) Weir; a brother, Ron (Jean) Bundy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Barrie) Dewane and Gerri (Steve) Acers, Patty (Tim) McNally and Meg Boren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dr. Francis and Mildred Dewane; two sisters, Beverly Beechner and her husband, Ron and Margrete; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Rod Thein; nephews, Rod Thein John Schingick, Jake Kaster, Mike Beechner and Gary Pentony; a niece, Penny Schingick and a great-niece, Jessica Konopik.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 3 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 4 p.m. until time of the Mass at 6 p.m. with Fr. John Harper concelebrating and Monsignor John Dewane. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
