Della A. DeStarkey, 84, Green Bay, died Wednesday, May 1at a Green Bay area nursing home. Born April 12, 1929, in De Pere to John and Nellie (Minten) Vanden Heuvel, she married Donald DeStarkey in 1948. He preceded her in death.
She loved gambling with her daughters, playing cards with her nieces and nephews and for 18 years she walked everyday with her neighbor and best friend, Jane Wilson. She loved the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Ellen and Richard Farr, Leann Kobylinski, John and Debbie DeStarkey, Russell and Lori DeStarkey, Roger and Maribeth DeStarkey, Peter and Pat DeStarkey, Lena; Terry and Pat Ryan, Michael DeStarkey, Sobieski; Nick and Sheryl DeStarkey, Mississippi; Kevin and Cheryl DeStarkey, Pulaski; Mary Prosek and Kevin, Seymour; Janet Parker, Menomonee Falls; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David DeStarkey; a son-in-law, Brian Kobylinski; grandchildren, Robyn Ryan and Lucas DeStarkey; a great-granddaughter, Erin Roberts; and her brothers and sisters.
Friends called at Blaney Funeral Home, Green Bay, from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4 and the funeral service was held at 7 p.m.
