Shirley Jean Johnson
Shirley Jean Johnson, 72, of Marinette, passed away on Tuesday, May 7 at Bay Area Medical Center. Born on Jan. 9, 1941 to the late Glenn and Vera (Corder) Schneider in Gary, Ind., she moved to California as a young girl and later graduated from San Pedro, Calif. High School. She moved to the Marinette area in 1974. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time in the woods, hunting, and trips to the casinos. She attended Faith Baptist Church and enjoyed working as a cook at the Cedar River Pub.
Survivors include a son, Denver (Petra) McPherson of Virginia; two daughters: Leslie (Tim) Liesch of Harmony and Sharenne (Dan) Rye of Wallace, Mich; a brother, Richard (Mary) Schneider of Canada; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glenn, and a nephew Rob.
Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, from 5 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor David Selness officiating and burial will be in Lost Lake Cemetery.
