Ralph R. Runge, 82, of Carney, MI passed away on Saturday, May 11 at home. Born on Jan. 22, 1931 in Mitchell, SD to the late Edward and Ruth (Mattingly) Runge, on Dec. 5, 1986 he married Faye Michnick in Menominee, MI. He worked as a self employed woodsman for many years.
He enjoyed all sports especially playing softball, nature, watching birds and other wildlife, cooking, playing checkers with his grandchildren, and following Carney Nadeau Sports and the Green Bay Packers. Visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren are what he enjoyed most. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Runge; children, Ralph Jr. (Tammie) and Karen (El) Arseneau; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; step children, Christine (Keith) Kellner, Sandra Huber, Ruth (Dan) Routhier, John (Tammy) Michnick and Edward (Tammy) Michnick; 18 step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; and previous wife, Betty Runge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson.
Family and friends may call at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau, MI on Friday, May 17 from 10 am CST until time of Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Father Michael Vichich will officiate with burial will follow in Nadeau Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
