Doris J. Laitinen, 87, of Stephenson, Mi. passed away on Monday, May 20 at the Menominee Care Center.
Born on April 16, 1946 in Marinette to the late Emil and Emma (Blahnik) Schingeck, on June 26, 1954 she married George Laitinen in Marinette.
He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2003. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church where she devoted many years to the Awana program. She loved children, painting and traveling with her sister, Marge.
Survivors include a son, John Laitinen; a sister, Marge Wyman and two brothers, Arnold and Richard Schingeck.
In addition to her parents and her husband, George, along with other relatives, she is missed by many close friends, including the Johnson and Sardina families.
Friends called at Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 22 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 noon. Pastor Levi Petrone officiated and burial followed in Central Baptist Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
