Virginia E. Mansfield
Virginia E. Mansfield, 88, of Porterfield passed away on Sunday, May 26.
Born on April 10, 1925 in Milwaukee to the late Reginald and Ilma (Schmidt) Rich, she moved with her parents at the age of 5 to the Town of Grover and lived there until she married Carlos L. Mansfield on May 15, 1943.
They were married for 40 years when he passed away from a serious illness on Oct. 2, 1984. She farmed and also worked for Coleman Products Company from 1979 to 1990, when she retired. She was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beaver.
She is survived by a son, Donald Mansfield of Porterfield; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Benjamin (Cel) Rich of Marinette and Richard (Pat) Rich of Peshtigo, a daughter-in-law, Donna Mansfield of Athelstane and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rich of Peshtigo.
Along with her parents and her husband, Carlos, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Mansfield; two brothers, Gilbert and Clarence Rich and a sister, Elva Comins.
Relatives and friends called at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Beaver from 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29 until the time of funeral services at 12 noon. Rev. Mark Hannemann officiated and burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette.
