Violet Marcella Saunier, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 21.
Born on Jan. 11, 1920 in Medford to the late Roy and Mary (Bailke) Lauersdorf, she was a lifelong resident of Menominee, until her later years when she moved to Germantown.
She resided for the past eight years at Virginia Highlands Health and Rehabilitation Center. She worked for Lauerman Brothers, Davis Cafe and Saint Joseph Lloyd Hospital. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cooking and embroidering in her younger years.
She is survived by a daughter, June Christiansen of Germantown; a son, Alan (Jean) Saunier of Menominee; a son-in-law, Bill Williams of Big Bend; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Williams; a great-grandson, Michael Chapman; a sister, Betty Gokey and three brothers, Robert Lauersdorf, Curtis James Lauersdorf and Lyndahl Richard Lauersdorf.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 28 at 1 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Hubertus. Friends called at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Jay Thorson officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family.
