Lions Honor Champ, 15 For Attendance
The May meeting of the Coleman-Pound Lions club was held at Bob and Laura's Supper Club in Pound. Lion Vice President Craig Gilbertson presided. On behalf of the club, Lion Chris Baenen presented Mason Mergener with a plaque recognizing his accomplishment as a State Wrestling Champion. Mason and his parents, Bruce and Roseann were guests of the club.
Under old business the club discussed the ongoing brick sale for the sidewalk at Lions Point. Order forms were distributed to members. Forms are also available at the Peshtigo Nation Bank and at the Coleman Municipal Building. The rose sale results was a success with Lion Steve Cagle again being the leading seller.
Under new business the club approved a number of donations. They were purchase raffle tickets from the Rescue Squad and Fire Department for their summer fund raisers, will sponsor 3 holes for the Golf/Wrestling golf fund raiser, donate a sponsorship to the Booster Club for their banquet in August, a donation to the Troy Palmer scholarship event, a $1,500 donation to the Pound Little League and $500 to the Wisconsin Lions Foundation for the Lions Camp at Rosholt.
Perfect Attendance pins were given to club members. They were 2 years, Carl DeGroot, Mark Alcott, Steve Cagle.
Paul Mueller, 3 years; and Mike Kinziger, 4 years.
Five years, Craig Gilbertson, Chris Baenen, Nick Gilbertson, Ted Verges, Eric Gretzon.
Bob Blackbourn one for 10 years.
Some members were recognized for long term membership. They were Dave Pellman, 20 years; Bill Conrad, 30 years; Tom Zoglman, 40 years; and Dan Rhodes for 40 years.
Next meeting will be in September at Bob and Laura's Supper Club.
