Jon H. Bruemmer
Jon Henry Bruemmer, 77, of Cedar River, Mi. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 1.
Born on Jan. 10, 1936 in Stephenson, MIi. to Heinrich Henry August Ernst Bruemmer and Marion Catherine (Hendrickson) Bruemmer, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1954 and earned a bachelor of science in mathematics with minors in English and physics and a master of arts in mathematics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mi., where he met Martha Jane (Guthrie) Bruemmer.
He married the former Jane Guthrie of Gadsen, Ariz. on June 15, 1958 in Yuma, Ariz. and the couple had three sons. She retired as a teacher of secondary school mathematics. His career in information technology included executive positions with IBM Corp, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Shell Company of Venezuela, Caracas, Technical Resources Corp., Kansas City, Mo. and Trans World Airlines, Kansas City, Mo.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, travel and music. Vacations at the Cabin in Cedar River and Gadsen, Ariz. provided many happy memories for the Bruemmer families and their guests. He was extremely well read and proved to be an encyclopedia of information. During his lifetime he traveled to 41 countries. He loved music, singing with the TWA Ambassadors, the Menominee County Choir and many church choirs. A devoted servant of Christ, through his Christian ministry he served as Elder and most recently as Deacon of Cedar River Community Chapel in Cedar River, Mi.
His wife, Jane survives, along with three sons, Mark Bruemmer of Savannah, Ga., Eric (Elizabeth) Bruemmer of Palatine, Ill. and Jay (Melissa) Bruemmer of Camden Point, Mo; five grandchildren; his twin brother, Jerry and a sister, Joyce Hulstedt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn.
