Oscar J. Falk, Jr.
Oscar John Falk, jr., 83, of Merrill, died Saturday, June 1 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Born May 28, 1930 in Iron Ridge, he was the son of the late Oscar, sr. and Anna (Stortz) Falk. On June 25, 1960 he married the former Mary Ann Osmanski in Crivitz and she preceded him in death in 2011.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and later worked for Semling Menke for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and being outdoors, watching birds, deer hunting, fishing, camping or driving through the Council Grounds. A very patient man, he also liked animals and cooking. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and volunteered countless hours to the Head Start Early Childhood program.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Chris) Streich of Gleason; a son, Andy (Briana) Falk of Waconia, Minn. and three grandchildren
Graveside services will take place at 12 noon on Friday, June 7 at St. Marys Cemetery in Crivitz. Memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
