Wayne W. Johnson
Wayne W. Utzy Johnson, 75, of Marinette, passed away at home on Friday evening, June 7 in the company of his family.
Born May 13, 1938 to Walter and Marcella (Pichette) Johnson, he grew up in Menekaunee and graduated from Marinette High School with the Class of 1956.
He joined the United States Navy after school, serving for four years. He worked at Marathon Paper Co. more than 20 years and also was a cab driver for M&M Taxi for several years. He enjoyed Cubs games, the Packers, Nascar, occasional trips to the casino, westerns on TV and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a son, Steven (Kelly) Johnson of Schaumburg, Ill.; two daughters, Denise Bird and Deborah Johnson, both of Marinette; a sister, Sharon Schmidt (John Harris) of Marinette; a nephew, Colin Schmidt (Alexis Harris) of Marinette; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his extended family, Cheryl (Mike) Finger, Al (Julie) Peterson, Sandy (Joe) Boburka, Debby (Kevin) Krouth, Denise (Pete) Lemieux, Scott (Wendy) Laundree and Tim Peterson; their children and grandchildren; and a special friend, Heather Round.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.
Friends called at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette after 3 p.m. on Monday, June 10 until time of the funeral services at 5 p.m. Rev. Keith Kolstad officiated and burial was in Forest Home Cemetery. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home served the family.
