THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Margaret Raminger, 96, of Menominee passed away on Thursday, June 6 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.
Born in Menominee on July 28, 1916 to William and Sena (Christianson) Hendrickson, on Dec. 31, 1934, she married Joseph Raminger. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1993.
She worked for the Richardson Hotel for 20 years and for the Menominee Hotel for nine years. She then worked at North Shore Golf Club, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Anns Sodality, American Legion Auxiliary and the Menominee County Historical Society. She was also an honorary member of the Mothers of Multiple Blessings.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Jane (Griffin) Lindsay and Susan Lynn Philipps, both of Marinette and Pam (Todd) Gunderson of Menominee; two sons, James Joseph Raminger of Escanaba, Mi. and Gary Raminger of Marinette; two sisters, Florence Brofka and Clara Bundy, both of Peshtigo and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; a daughter, Carol; three granddaughters, Lillian, Angela and Kim; two sons-in-laws, a daughter-in-law and five sisters.
Visitation was held at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 3 p.m. Burial was at Birch Creek Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Menominee Animal Shelter.
