Francis L. Boehm
Francis L. "Cy" Boehm, 80, of Suamico died Monday, June 17, following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 10, 1933 in Green Bay to Frank and Mary (Danielski) Boehm, he was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of 1951 and served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Princeton during the Korean Conflict.
Following the war he married Patricia Calewarts on Sept. 25, 1954 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. For 37 years he worked for Wisconsin Public Service in the Gas Department and retired as a Gas Street Supervisor in 1995. He loved the outdoors and spending time at the family cottage in Wabeno. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, campfires, gardening, watching the Packers and building. With the help of friends and family he built his own home and cottage. He gave nicknames to all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Robert (Cindy) Boehm of Oconto, Ken (Susan) Boehm of Eden Prairie, Minn., Gerald (Lisa) Boehm of Tempe, Ariz., Michael (Teresa) Boehm of Chandler, Ariz., Sue (Michael) Schilawski of Suamico and Steve (Melody) Boehm of Little Suamico; 11 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a cousin, Tom (Dorothy) Boehm of Green Bay; a godson, Scott Wallenfang of Sobieski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gene and Judy Wallenfang of Suamico, Roger and Karen Calewarts of Amberg, Pam Hedtke of Oconto Falls and Dean and Sue Calewarts and Chris and Terry Brabant, both of Oconto; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Laverne Roughsedge and a grandson, Jordan Boehm.
Friends may call at SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, Flintville, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday, June 20 from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. David J. Hoffman will officiate and Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
