THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
The family of Leonard Brissette will gather to bury his ashes at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 21 at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
Berth & Rosenthal Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements. He passed away on Monday, May 27 at his home in Peshtigo.
Born on April 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Louis J. and Ada M. (Sanborn) Brissette. He married the former Mary DeHart on Aug. 27, 1949 in Peshtigo and the couple owned and operated Len & Marys Tavern on Hwy. 64 for many years. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 1982. On April 26, 1983 he married the former Dolores Mae Humphrey and she preceded in death on Oct. 2, 2012.
He is survived by a stepson, Wayne A. (Lanita) Schwartz; two stepdaughters, Laverne R. (Robby) Nelson and Marie A. Schwartz and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, his wife, Mary and his wife, Dolores, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael in 1999; a sister, Lucille and a brother, Harold.
