Frederick A. Yoap, 91, of Marinette passed away Thursday evening, July 4 at his home.
Born Jan. 16, 1922 in Peshtigo to Frederick and Hulda Yoap, he spent his early years in the Town of Grover and resided in the Grover, Peshtigo and Marinette areas his entire life. He married the former Mildred Boettcher on May 3, 1947.
After working as a farmer for more than 40 years, he enjoyed a variety of careers. He worked at the Marinette County Highway Department, Ansul Company and Chevalier Motors, retiring in 1987 at age 65. He retired for a second time in 2003 after driving bus for the Peshtigo and Marinette School Districts. A member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God he often led singing in church and was a member of Gideons International.
His wife of 66 years, Mildred survives, along with three children, Beverly Yoap, Brenda (Ged) Wood and Randy (Barbara) Yoap; a daughter-in-law, Bernice Yoap; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel; a brother and four sisters.
Friends called at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Marinette after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9 until time of funeral services at 4 p.m. Rev. Tim Hawthorne and Rev. Robert Curle officiated and burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home served the family.
