Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until time of the prayer services at 7 p.m., for Lisa M. Cortez, 35, of Milwaukee, formerly of Oconto Falls. Cremation will follow. She died suddenly on Saturday afternoon, July 13 at a Milwaukee hospital.
Born July 17, 1977 in Alamo, Tex. to Antonio Cortez, jr. and Mary Meyer, she moved with her mother back to Oconto Falls in 1982 where she attended public schools. She graduated from high school in 1995 and lived in Milwaukee the past 10 years with her three sons.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Meyer of Oconto Falls; her father, Antonio Cortez, jr. of Texas; three sons, Jacob, Justin and Joseph Cortez; her fiance, Eric; a brother, John Bubba Meunier, all at home; maternal grandparents, Bob (Mary Jane) Meyer, Darlene Merschdorf, all of Oconto Falls and many special friends, including Debbie Mikula, Katie Garfield and Bev Sparks and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Antonio, sr. and Alicia Cortez.
