Peshtigo Hosts Tri-County ShootIssue Date: July 17, 2013
The annual Tri-County Shoot will be held at the Peshtigo Gun Club on Saturday, July 20 from 9am-3pm. The day long shoot will be a 50 bird event with added prize money.
Peshtigo Gun Club
Jim Jandt hit 50 straight targets and Darin Williams went 25-24 at the Peshtigo Gun Club last week. Single rounds of 25 were shot by Jay Borths, Jeff Suchon, Doug Krienke, Chris Warrington and John Turner.
Registering 24s were Larry Westbrook, Jim Stenzel, Mac McAllister, Paul Kayser, Loren Rose, Dave Seymour, Eric VanHulle, Mike VanDyck, Tyler Rosner and Lyle Lange.
The top averages belong to Dave Wittkopf 24.06, Darin Williams 23.75, Dave Seymour 23.64, Jim Sullivan 23.61, Mike VanDyck 23.59, Ron Banach 23.55, Dan Seymour 23.54, Paul Kayser 23.40, Steve Schabo 23.07 and Chris Warrington 23.00.
League standings find Nelson Freight I, Nelson Freight III and Northwood Flooring at 2-0 each, Nelson Freight II 1-0-1, Mike & Jeans I, Thoune Heating & Cooling, Durow and Truck Country 1-1, Marinette Farm & Garden 0-1-1, Crivello 's, D. L. Welding Consultants, Mike & Jeans II 0-2-0.
The 2013 club shoot-off saw Jim Jandt hit 50 straight to beat Darin Williams 50 to 49 for the club championship. Class A honors to Darin Williams, Class B Jeff Suchon, Class C Jay Borths, Class C Jim Borths, Juniors Tyler Rosner and Ladies Jenny VanHulle.
Located on Pheasant Farm Road, just off County RW, the club is open to public and members every Wednesday evening from 5pm to 10pm and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
Lake Noquebay Trap League
Hitting rounds of 25 at Lake Noquebay were Brian Brojanic, Dave Brower and Mac McAllister, John Brown went 25-25-24, Darryl Zernia 25-24 and Ray Kitzman 24-24.
Shooting 24s were Paul Becker, Chet Besaw, Mike Carroll, Jeff Kump and Mike Waugus.
Zernia now owns a high gun average of 23.33.
Tracy Oberleitner fired a 21 to take over the ladies lead.
The Krabbe 5 remain in first place with 7 wins while Pauls Portables have recorded 6.5 wins.
Menominee Trap Results
Seven shooters connected on perfect rounds of 25 targets at the Menominee Woods and Stream Sportsman 's Club July 9-11.
High individual shooters for the week were Tim Chaltry (25, 24); Paul Korn (25, 23, 23); Tom Sadowski (25, 23); Ken Kline, Jeff Chevalier, Tom Volk and Steve Schabo (25).
Also adding near perfect scores were Gene Lemery and Mac McAllister (24-24); Andy Barker and Charlie Nagler (24, 23); Rodney Sterzing, Roland Becker, Mike Waugus, Shawn Johnson, John Gump, Wayne Grinsteiner, and Dave Mueller (24); Jeff Balthazor (23, 23); Carl Muffler, Al Nerat, Joe Pairon, Bob Maloney, Brian Miller, Jon Nelson, Sandy Waugus, Don Kakuk, Dan Michalik, Marv Fernstrum and Mike Tracy (23).
The second half of the Summer Trap League began with three tie-breakers as Roadhouse I outshot Roadhouse II 120/144-120/139, Winsert beat ABS 116/137-116-130, and Kakuk 's nipped Sharpe Shooters 118/140/162-118/140/161.
In other action, Barker 's Ridge defeated Little Digger Construction 120-115, Pellets & Pigeons beat Superior Landscaping 120-117, Wild Rivers Forestry over Team Redneck 119-117 and Van 's IGA edged Angeli 's 121-119.
Mac McAllister leads men 's high gun with a total score of 241 and a 24.10 average, followed by Paul Korn (239, 23.90), Jim Stenzel (237, 23.70), Dale Welch and Tom Volk (236, 23.60).
Libby Gignac is the ladies ' high gun (223 total, 22.30 average), followed by Pat Barker (215, 21.50), Mary Chevalier (214, 21.40), Heather Juckem and Kelly Johnson (172, 17.20).
High Squad for the week was shot by Rodney Sterzing (20), Sandy Waugus (23), Mike Waugus (24), Tom Sadowske (25) and Mac McAllister (24) for a total of 116.
League shooters and club members are reminded that the Tri-County Shoot will be held at the Peshtigo Gun Club on Saturday, July 20 from 9am-3pm. All shooters are urged to attend and club members participating in the shoot will receive a free round of trap at the Menominee range.
Both league and open shooting is available on Tuesday mornings from 11am-2pm as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm-9pm. The trap range is open to all area shotgunners, whether to shoot in the league or only an occasional night just for fun. To join in the fun just come out to the club on any Tuesday morning or Tuesday and Thursday evening at N3675 County Road 577, about 10 miles north of Menominee.
